Last night I decided that I was going to visit the Brooklyn museum today, so I walked from my room, via Bedford Ave to the Brooklyn Museum. The museum has a very special variety of collections. I really liked the European paintings and Pretty/Dirty by Marilyn Minter, which is a collection of paintings and photographs exploring beauty and sexuality of women.
After the museum, I took the subway to Brooklyn Heights to see the bridge, the New York City skyline & the statue of Liberty. I feel like I didn’t fully realize I am actually in NY until I saw these things and recognized them. If you’ve been here before you might know what I mean, and if you haven’t you just have to take my word for it: you feel like you’ve been there before. It’s probably because you recognize it from TV, but it’s a strange feeling to have in a place you’ve actually never been before.
Because I walked quite a lot the past days I decided to just go back to my room and spent the rest of the night there. That’s the benefit of being here for a long time, you don’t have to use every minute you have to see most of the city.
