Day 14 I packed my bags, checked in for my flight and cleaned up my room. I decided I wasn’t going to do anything special that day, because my 7-day-free on the metro card was over and I had plenty of stuff to do in my room.
The next day I went to the airport at 8 for my flight to LA. My flight was at 11:30 but I wanted to make sure I was there on time because when I flew to NY everything took way longer than I thought. But it wasn’t necessary at all, I wasn’t even at the airport for 30 minutes and I had already checked my luggage and been through security. So then I just waited at the gate until we started boarding.
After a short flight we landed in Charlotte and, again, I waited until we started boarding. I was thinking about the last time I had to transfer flights and how much in a hurry everyone was. Because the plane was on time I had an hour to walk to the gate, when last time my flight should’ve left by the time our plane landed. No wonder they ‘lost’ the luggage, they didn’t have any time to transfer it.
This flight and the next were actually one of the best flights I’ve been on. It was quick, on time and it all felt a lot easier than it did the last time. I even had extra space because there was no one sitting next to me. The flight to LA was a little bit longer and we had a bit of turbulence but I slept through most of it so it was fine.
Because it was a domestic flight I didn’t have to go through airport security and I went straight to bagage claim, I had to wait a little while but my luggage was there :). Then I took the bus to Union Station and then to the Airbnb and I arrived in a cute apartment in Lincoln Heights.
